Ask An Architect: Navigating Your Building Project
One of our goals as a firm is to make a difference by building a thriving, inclusive design community. This effort ranges from supporting local non-profits to featuring emerging artists and hosting neighborhood happy hours.
On a broader level, John DeForest helped found CORA NW, a regional network that has grown to include over 150 architects. Activities have included fostering peer support, leading roundtable discussions, and engaging debate about the built environment. For the last year, we have been working with a SPARC, a group at AIASeattle, to strengthen its residential programs. As a result, John will be co-hosting the relaunch of a popular public seminar:
Dreaming about a home design project and not sure where to start? Wondering how to make the most of your budget? Curious about green design or how to plan for your family’s changing needs? Join architects from DeForest Architects and Wascha Studios for an information-packed overview of the design and construction process including budget and schedule, tips for hiring the right team, and how you and your designer can work together to make the most of any project.
The seminar will be held following the Seattle Design Festival, from 9-11am on Saturday, September 23rd. Please pass this along to anyone you know who may be planning a project or are just curious about the process!
