Art House

This existing lakeside residence was transformed from a house full of heavy stone and beams into a light-filled place for enjoying art, food and family. The homeowner, who relaxes by cooking multi-course meals for friends, wanted a kitchen to be a focus second only to the artwork in the home.

Stair Gallery

An exercise in minimalism, the stair is a study in light, structure and materiality. The existing three-story stairwell was a poorly lit and cavernous. To bring the clients’ art collection to light, the stair became a bright, active, vertical gallery that can be enjoyed every day. A skylight and slot window fill the space with light, while perforated stainless steel treads and risers appear to dissolve from view.
